Donkey Kong Returns as a Sham of What It Once Was

Yes, I know DKC Returns came out in December of 2010, I just really want to get this off my back.

What was predicted to be a masterpiece fell short to it's promising trailer.

Donkey kong country, as you all know, was and is one of the crown jewels of the super nintendo. It was new, it was fresh, it was exciting. the graphics were extraordinary and the gameplay formed the basis for platformers today.

When Donkey Kong Country Reutrns was announced, it was highly anticipated. With the Wii's capibilities at hand, DKCR was a masterpiece waiting to happen.
But no. it wasn't.

Reason One-Music
The game consists of both remakes from the original Country and new songs. Sadly the music was quite a joke. Each piece sounded like the orchestra had a couple drinks before going on stage and sounded like a failed Middle School Jazz Concert to the point where I had to mute my TV to prevent myself from breaking it.

Reason Two-Characters
Of course you play as donkey kong. but only himself. Diddy only serves as a weak boost to get over ledges and a waste of a Second player's character. Remember the other animals from the original? Well only one returns. Rambi the rhino. He too has been degraded. The only reason to get him is to clear paths to secrets. Otherwise you don't need him. Lastly the support Kong family member returning is Kranky, who serves as a shopkeeper...whoopee?

Reason Three-Enemies
Remeber the Kremlings? Well they're gone. Instead you fight a tribe of musical tikis. Wow. infact there isn't any varietyof enemy to fight. Usually drums that walk or fly. Where's the jumping Kremlings? or the Big Luggers? Well they're replaced with a joke of an enemy. Instead of being King K. Rool, it's some Tiki god or whatever. Oh, and you fight a CRAPLOAD of animals.

Reason Four-Gameplay
The gameplay was awful. It was way, way too slippery and out of control to the point where half of the time I died from stopping at edges and falling because DK doesn't stop completely but slips a bit.

Overall, don't get this game unless you never played the original Country. Otherwise, like me, you will have extreme buyer's remorse.
